The Transdisciplinary Encounter of Narratology and Visual Art in MMORPGs

The aim of this paper is to present and analyze visual elements MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game) storyworlds as important aspects both world-building the immersion capacity virtual worlds. MMORPGs are characterized by multi-user environments called ‘open worlds’, in which maps geography space play an role. Geography that represent these geographical forms game a significant role creating worldness narratives located them. same goes for features architecture, natural or outer expanses. Visual contribute narrative numerous ways, analyzed detail using transdisciplinary approach – narratological apparatus especially shift towards postclassical narratology. Another, but not less aspect will be presented importance character appearance, well clothing (armors) equipment context building identity themself (the player) way they themselves other players. All indicate (geographical architectural) characteristics characters have storytelling, supporting transmedial praxis contemporary forms.
